Application of investment casting, CNC machining and welding in metal products.
We can see metal products in many manufacturing industries or daily necessities. How are metal products processed? In fact, metal products can be formed in many ways depending on their structures, such as stamping, powder metallurgy, forging, die-casting, precision casting,
CNC machining, etc. Today I will share a metal product we produce, which includes the following processes:
investment casting, CNC machining, carbonitriding heat treatment, welding and grinding, black phosphating surface treatment, etc. Please see the finished product picture below:
From the product pictures alone, it seems very simple and not difficult. In fact, it is not. If we analyze the use and requirements of the product, we will find that it is actually very difficult to make this product. First of all, this product requires assembly, so there are precision requirements for the assembly areas. Secondly, this product requires welding and assembly. More importantly, after the two parts are welded and assembled, relatively high precision requirements are required. The distance between the two pillars after welding requires a tolerance within ±0.1mm. From a tolerance point of view, it is not bad. It is a relatively large tolerance. However, if we consider the length of the pillars and thermal deformation during the welding process, etc., This is still very difficult to guarantee. Please look at Drawing 1 and Analysis Figure 2 below:
From the Analysis Figure 2, we can simply see that on an 90mm long column, as long as we deviate by 0.05° on each side, the difference between the bottom and the top of the column will be 0.16mm, which is beyond the tolerance range of ±0.1mm, and The Analysis Figure 2 does not include the issue of thermal deformation during the welding process (thermal expansion and contraction). If these issues are also taken into account, the difficulty will be even greater.
Finally, after analysis and experiments by our engineering team, we finally solved this problem. We successfully delivered qualified products to customers and were recognized by them.
This is just one of those cases. For non-standard customized metal parts, we often encounter problems of one kind or another, which require our professional team to analyze and solve.
If your product also has this or that kind of problem that needs to be analyzed and solved, please do not hesitate to contact us (info@dgsxltd.com). We will discuss and learn with you, and ultimately hope to get a good result. Thank you.
